As Tim gets underway on his journey (chapter 10 of The Bridge from OneDayBow) he is surprised to find out that he isn’t alone, in more ways than one. Countless numbers of people are on the journey with him, all there because of the kindness of the King and all preparing to be good examples to those in HereAndNow. They don’t all look him, but they all have something in common more important than their biography, background or bloodline: they are all in the same family in the Kingdom – children of the King!
For the shy or reserved, their behavior may seem a little over the top. But have you ever been to a family reunion? Some people you haven’t seen in years, some you may not have met yet, but what great camaraderie there is in that family bond! Excited to be together; stories are told, new memories are made, and there is great joy. But so much greater is the fellowship in the Kingdom where the common bond is so much greater!
But there is more than just fun and games in the Kingdom: there is shared gratitude for all the King has done, shared purpose, shared encouragement, and shared understanding.
Their shared gratitude is based on knowing they’re all only there by the Son’s sacrifice.
Their shared purpose is to make the King known.
Their shared encouragement is to continue on in the Truth of the Book.
And they share the understanding that staying the course is vital.
So, am I talking about The Bridge from OneDayBow or the fellowship we have in the Kingdom of God? Both! And it is greater than we know! With more than 2 billion Christians in the world, we are the biggest family by far and share more than we often consider. So, let’s treasure our relationship with God through Christ and with one another; make the Kingdom known in our here and now; and stay on the course that the Bible details. Never forget that our need one another is greater than we know. Oh, and watch out for those tempters!!! More on that next time.
