I imagine that you’re wondering about me, so here is a short bio. I’m a pretty ordinary person–maybe a lot like you, or maybe very different from you. I’m married, have kids and grandkids, work a regular job and have very busy days. What makes me different from most is that I have a gift for rhyming. If you’ve read any of The Bridge from OneDayBow you have already figured that out! I prefer the word “rhyming” to “poetry.” Poetry sounds formal and stuffy while rhyme seems more fun and engaging, but you will need to be the judge of that.
There’s something else that I think you should know, if you don’t already. I’m a Christian. I envision the various responses that may be happening: 1) “So? I have lots of friends who are Christians.” (Good, I’m glad you’re still with me!) 2) “That’s cool because I am too!” (Very cool!) 3) CLICK–you’re gone. (Sorry I lost you)
I don’t tell you that to immediately draw a line in the sand–or a rift in the readership–but because I think you’d want to know that going into this. You may be wondering what kind of Christian I am, since that word can mean one thing to one person and something entirely different to another. So here goes…
I am an unashamed follower of Jesus Christ. I believe He really lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose from the dead and is now seated in Heaven with God. I also believe He will one day return to reign on earth along with His followers. I also believe that God created the world in six days and that humans were made humans without the need of billions of years to evolve into human-ness. Why do I believe those things? Because that’s what the Bible says, and I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. To some, my faith in the Truth of the Bible may sound wild and radical, but it wasn’t too many years ago when this was considered mainstream thinking in America. It was treated and respected as the Truth. But things have changed in our culture, and even in our Churches. I am on a mission to point people back to the Truth of God’s Word. Will you join me?
